Purchasing an RC Working Border Collie

If you are interested in our dogs, and have experience in training working dogs or have completed a working stock dog clinic we invite you to contact us to discuss your working dog requirements and our dog availability.

RC Pastoral is a registered primary producer and we breed genuine working dogs as working dogs. As such RC Pastoral is exempt from registering as a breeder on the Queensland Dog Breeder Register.

Dogs (including pups) will be demonstrated working, either in person or on video.  We do publish YouTube videos of our dogs, including those for sale, working in their home environment, displaying their natural ability.  We encourage you to come and visit us to see our dogs in person so we can attempt to match you and the type of work you have to a dog/s that will suit.

We train our dogs within our environment which includes a 200 acre property, a small herd of cows and calves (50), a flock of Damara sheep (ram, 30 ewes, lambs and all ages in between).  We work our stock either on foot, or off ATV.   We do not use horses to work our stock and our dogs have limited exposure to larger vehicles and traffic.

Off property, we use our dogs to educate weaners to be respectful of dogs for ease of handling in large or small mobs - this work is focused, high pressured work.

We would like to emphasise that all dogs require time and care while they adjust to their new working environment and conditions.  Purchasers need to select carefully before taking their pup/dog from the property and we will not be offended if you don't find something that 100% suits your needs.  Your purchase price includes a 30% non-refundable deposit.

Transport
If purchasing a pup, we would expect the pup be transported in an enclosed space eg dog cage or cabin.
If the purchaser is unable to collect a pup/dog in person, it is the purchaser’s responsibility to arrange and pay for appropriate transport.  We are able to take dogs to Gympie to meet transport.
On the East Coast, we have had great success using Dog Movers (www.dogmovers.com.au).  When sending our pups West, we have used JetPets (www.jetpets.com.au/) with success.

Payment terms and conditions
All prices quoted are on property and are subject to GST.
A price includes a 30% non-refundable deposit component.

If you purchase a dog from RC Pastoral, we will provide you with:
  • Current vaccination, worming and other treatment record.
  • Information on the dog or pup's diet and feeding regime
  • Printed pedigree to five generations.
  • Detailed invoice for payment including our banking details.
  • Registration with QWCDTAInc (if required and requested) at extra cost.

Payment must be made prior to or on the day the pup/dog is taken.  Ownership of all dogs purchased, will remain with RC Pastoral until payment has been received from the purchaser.  We have found the best way to achieve this is through Electronic Funds Transfer on the day (or before) of purchase, confirmed by sighting an EFT transfer confirmation.
If you come to visit, choose and collect a dog on the day, you may use our internet connection to login to your online banking and complete the EFT.  Other methods of payment can be negotiated if you do not participate in online banking.

Refund terms
We take pride in spending time with you when you visit us to inspect a dog.  Once a dog leaves our property, we have no control over what you do with them, their training progression or the work you expect them to do.
If you are having trouble with your pup, please contact us for advice.
Your price included a 30% non-refundable deposit component.
