About us
Located about 25km South West of Gympie, in the Glastonbury Creek Valley, our 200 acre property runs a small beef breeding operation of predominantly Blonde D'Aquitaine x Braham cattle, damara sheep, a couple of paint horses, one quarter horse and working border collies. Our property boundary is the Glastonbury Creek, a pristine flowing creek which provides a tranquil setting for us and our animals.
We like border collies for the exceptional herding ability and intelligence. It is such a pleasure to be able to stand or sit on the bike or horse at the gate and send the dogs to fetch the stock - and it actually happens!!
Whether it's cattle or sheep dog trialling or just wanting to get the most out of yourself and your dog to do whatever the task is at hand, their incredible instinct and pedigree gives a great start to success.
Our dogs
Our aim is to breed and train high quality working border collies - bred to work cattle, sheep and goats. We prefer lean leggy dogs capable of easy travel across all types of terrain. Our breeding bitches and dogs display a good mix of characteristics to confidently and quietly educate cattle - excellent for weaner breaking. We train all our own dogs and have learned training techniques from books, training videos and some of the best dog trainers and handler through attending working stock dog handler's schools. (see our training tips for more info)
We train our dogs within our environment which includes a 200 acre property, a small herd of cows and calves (60), a flock of Damara sheep (ram, 20 ewes, lambs and all ages in between). We work our stock either on foot, or off ATV. We do not use horses to work our stock and our dogs have limited exposure to larger vehicles.
Off property, we use our dogs to educate weaners to be respectful of dogs for ease of handling in large or small mobs - this work is focused, high pressured work that border collies are very well suited for.
When we breed our dogs, it is done for a purpose, and we carefully select matings based on pedigree and parent/grandparent ability to achieve a set of desired characteristics and abilities. Excess pups and started dogs are sometimes available for sale for use by other primary producers as working companions. We would like to emphasise that all sale dogs will require time and additional care while they adjust to their new environment, owners and conditions.
Adequate exercise and training is the secret to keeping a dog happy in himself and obedient for his owner.

We have sold our pups and started dogs:
- to small operations where only one or two dogs are required for stock work and they are part of the family as well
- as teams to work medium sized operations - we team dogs that complement each other well
- to large properties
